The Kansas City Royals were the 2015 World Series champions against the New York Mets, who they beat four games to one. It’d been exactly twenty years since their last championship (1985). Kauffman Stadium opened on April 10, 1973, and cost seventy million dollars—were it built today, it would have cost upwards of $370M.
