In 2015, the Cincinnati Reds had a tough MLB regular season, finishing second to last in the league. They won 64 games and lost 98. Despite that record, attendance at home games was the highest it’d been in at least three years. Fans, visitors to the Cincinnati area, and residents alike have flocked to Great American Ballpark to see the Reds play ball.

The club now known as the Cincinnati Reds joined the American Association back in 1882, as a Charter Member. Eight years later, in 1890, the Reds joined the National League. Over the years, they have won the World Series 5 times—a feat accomplished by only seven other teams in MLB history. The Cincinnati Reds have also brought home 10 pennants and 10 Division titles.

The Cincinnati Reds’ home stadium is called Great American Ballpark. Great American Ballpark cost almost 300 million dollars to build, and has a capacity of over 42,000. The park opened in 2003, and is home to not only the diamond, but also to the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame exhibits take fans through the history of the club. Some of the exhibits are interactive, such as “Play Ball!” which allows visitors to test their pitching speed from a mound stationed at minor league distance.
