Atlanta Braves

In the 2015 MLB season, the Atlanta Braves finished fourth in the East Division of the National League. They won 67 regular season games, and lost 84. Changes in management and player trades marked the beginning of the 2015 season.

In 1871, the Boston Red Stockings were founded. They remained in Boston and underwent several name changes until 1953, when they settled on the Boston Braves. After a stint as the Milwaukee Braves, the team finally moved to Atlanta in 1966, and has played as the Atlanta Braves since then. One of the two oldest teams in the National League, they joined in 1876, and have played the most consecutive games of any of the MLB teams in the National League. Within the NL, they played in the West division from 1969 to 1993, and in the East division since 1994. The Atlanta Braves have three official nicknames: America’s Team, The Bravos, and The Team of the 90s. Over the years they’ve won three World Series titles, 17 National League pennants, and 17 Division titles (5 in the West, 12 in the East.)

At present, the Atlanta Braves’ home stadium is Turner Field, where they’ve played since 1997. Prior to then, they’ve called seven other stadiums home, including Fenway Park in Boston. In 2017, the Atlanta Braves expect to transition to SunTrust Park, in Cobb County, just outside the city of Atlanta.
