Held each year in the Louis Armstrong Stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens, NY, the event is comprised of several unique championships: men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, mixed doubles, and more for juniors, seniors, and wheelchair players. First held in 1881 in Newport, Rhode Island before moving to New York in 1915, the US Open found its current home at the USTA Tennis Center in 1978.
