The production itself is co-directed by Robert De Niro and Jerry Zaks. There’s also choreography done by Tony Award nominee Sergio Trujillo.

The musical tells the story of Calogero Anello, a young boy from a working class family who becomes involved in the mafia. As Calogero grows up, he is charmed by Sonny, the local mob boss. The mob boss because somewhat of a father figure to Calogero, and he begins to struggle between his true feather’s values and life of organized crime.

Among the featured cast is Nick Codero, who earned a Tony nomination by playing a gangers in Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway and who winds up playing Sonny. There is also Richard H. Blake as Lorenzo, Bobby Conte Thornton as Calogero, Ariana DeBose as Jane, Lucia Giannetta as Rosina, Bradley Gibson as Tyrone, and Hudson Loverro as Young Calogero.

The design team for the new musical includes Beowulf Borrtitt, William Ivey Long, Howell Binkley, Gareth Owen, Paul Huntley, Anne Ford-Coates, Tara Rubin Casting, and Robert Westley.
